EDIT: This is a free game on itch.io The porter's claiming to be the creator, someone they are not You are being lied to about who the money is going towards Actual FREE game here: https://ncase.itch.io/wbwwb Cost outweighs the worth of the actual product, though when free it is an absolute charm Shouldn't be allowed on steam and will likely be pulled soon due to BEING ILLEGAL I hope the original creator gets adequate compensation for what this scammer's earnt off their name and everyone gets their refunds The creator's statement: https://twitter.com/ncasenmare/status/1148690638357106694 ORIGINAL REVIEW: A delightful game with a message to tell The natural evolution of the walking sim Be warned that the game can be beat in 5-10 minutes flat so take your time with it and try to soak it all in Biggest complaint is that too For as well as it conveys its philosophy through the game and its mechanics I wish there was a happy ending too that you could access depending on the storie...

About This Game
"" game about news cycles, vicious cycles, infinite cycles"
We Become What We Behold is a 5 minute game that looks at how social media magnifies small differences into gross monstrosities. It is a non-partisan game about politics, examining the horror of the viral nature of divisiveness and tribalism.
The player captures “news,” controlling what the circles and squares see on a screen and having sway over how they think and act.
warning: the following program contains scenes of snobbery, rudeness & mass murder. Viewer discretion is advised.
This games was created and originally published by Nicky Case (this is not an official port from him). You can find the original web version at this link:

User Reviews
We become what we behold is over in 5-10 minutes, and there's not a lot of replay value. But those 5-10 minutes really made an impression on me when I first played it for free online, because in those short minutes Case helped me grock a feedback loop which is tearing civilization apart. So I've bought it on Steam to support Case's work. Here's what I recommend: play the game on Nicky Case's website (it's available as of this review), https://ncase.me/ and if you think it showed you something important, buy it on steam to support his work, as I did. Or better yet, become a patron.
An excellent commentary on the shortcomings and sometimes destructive nature of our modern media and news coverage. Highly recommend. A video of my playthrough here: https://youtu.be/R5CGpgx-WxU
Try it.
I previously had this as a negative review, because it was a paid port of a totally free game, but the devs have since made it free, so that is no longer true. Excellent game, and remember to support the original developer if you can!
