About This Game

Impossible Soaring is an intense test of flying skill. You score points by gliding as close as you dare to obstacles and surfaces. The closer you get, and the faster you move, the more points you'll score. Greater risk means greater reward! Keep your streak going to build up a combo multiplier for an even greater score. Do well enough and you might achieve a spot on the online leaderboards!

 • Gliding is physics-based, and you'll have to maintain your energy to stay airborne. Swoop and dive with grace and finesse to conserve energy, and fly close to objects and surfaces to restore it. The more energy you have, the faster you'll fly.

 • It's up to you to figure out your own flying style based on how much risk and excitement you're interested in. Play it safer and merely beat each level, or fly like a true daredevil in pursuit of higher scores and leaderboard positions.
 • Nine distinct, large levels, each presenting a unique environment to fly in. Towering mountain peaks, dense jungles, sunken ruins, and bizarre architectural monstrosities each aim to test your soaring skills in different ways.

Impossible Soaring is a delightfully difficult game, at least at first (thus the developer's appropriate claim of "intense".) Then it becomes simply delightful. Admittedly, it seems at first to indeed be an impossible challenge, but rather quickly presents itself as a game with exceptionally responsive controls once they are learned. And not only responsive, but just as likely to allow soaring (and scoring) upside down as right-side up in the process of flying toward the next point objective and cumulative bonuses (the key to high leaderboard scores) in these numerous beautiful and challenging landscapes. I confess I don’t generally write such short reviews, but by the very nature of the improbably named Impossible Soaring, I feel in this case I must break with tradition and go brief. Since the game is based on numerous different maps, unlocked sequentially to explore and score points based on skill and difficulty, I suspect it might be some time before I have the knowledge to writ...

Umm... excuse me, Steam? I've probably spent about 10 hours on this platform searching for games that are similar to Superflight and this one never showed up. This game is super fun although a bit shallow on the content. It's challenging for sure and grindy to get cosmetics. It's easy to get a few but to collect all would be grindy. I recommend messing around with the controls to figure out what works for you. Their default set up is really bad. By default they have yaw set to left and right trigger and roll set to analog left and right. Switch those and IMO the game becomes twice as fluid. Definitely a nice little game with 10ish really pretty maps. Shoutout to superflight by the way. If you're here you probably already know that game but if you don't you should check it out.
Good game:
It's the first game that I feel like hunting for a position on the leaderboard. If you don't care about leaderboards it's still fun to just better your personal record for yourself! Maps are enjoyable you unlock them with your score and it's fun to explore them one after the other! Especially since each map has it's own track. Each track is different and good to listen to. Also I love the small town in which you can go explore, talk to people, it creates a small home between the flights...

Fun and challenging game. Game focuses a lot on stunts rather than racing. Gliding feels very good in this game.

Look at me! I'm flying! I'm flying! And I'm having fun. You can land and walk around. Certainly worth the very low price for hours of zooming and swooping around.

Full Review: https://youtu.be/OPppc0f2QwI A fun game with some spotty controls but once you get use to it. It becomes a game where you try to find the best paths and sharpest turns you can make. Would be good to see in future updates, custom checkpoint markers for trails, to challenge other players and possibly race paths.

TL;DR The game needs a boost button instead of automatically boosting. It is quite a boring game mechanically as is. I really, really wanted to like this game, when I saw it had energy management and free flight in it I was instantly sold. I've been looking for exactly that type of game for the last ten years. Sadly, after .3 hours of playing it I have to say, this is not it. The energy management in this is not energy management at all, its just "you get boosted when you fly close to stuff". There is no way to choose when to speed up, so you are robbed of that beautiful "management" aspect of energy management that makes so many other flight games worth playing. You are also not really incentivised to go up or down on most levels, so essentially the core gameplay loop of this game is, "fly down at the beginning and then level out and fly left or right to try to stay close to something." Which is a horrible gameplay loop for a flying game. The music is awful, I muted the music of the...
