About This Game

For some of us, the 1980s never ended. The true scene veterans persevered through the changing trends in music, fashion and common decency, keeping glam metal alive through sheer stubbornness and detachment from reality. When one of the least successful bands in hair metal decides it's time for a comeback, no one is safe. They may have put on a few pounds and lost some of their graying hair, but their rocking power and sex appeal are still... Uh, as questionable as ever? But this time they're sure to make it big. This time rock 'n 'roll will never die!

In this hilarious point-and-click adventure you jump into the denim vest of a middle-aged teddy bear to orchestrate the comeback of your old glam metal band – no matter that glam metal has been the laughing stock of all music fans for decades. It's coming back, I swear!

Experience all the fun of organizing band activities with people who have families and careers, rehearsing in moldy basements, trying to convince promoters to book your band, and playing Tuesday night support gigs in empty bars for no money! Hours of adventuring with 100+ characters and exciting locations in glorious hand-drawn 1920 x 1080 pixel graphics. It's pretty cool!

A mighty fine game for anyone who likes their rock music, adventure games, and dad jokes. And who doesn't?

Alright. Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die! is done and dusted. This is a classic comedy point and click centered on some middle aged plus, anthropomorphic animal ex-glam rock band musicians, who are going through mid life crises and decide to get the band back together. Which, as a middle aged rock and metal guitarist myself, was particularly funny and on point, lol. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3143788394 Our protagonists are of course completely self centered idiots with debatable musical talent, and so the game really showcases the comedy of errors which is their attempt to relive their glory days and become rock stars. Straight away, I’ll tell you that if you’re very sensitive to things that poke fun at political correctness, this isn’t the game for you. It’s unabashed hedonistic raunch with a complete disregard for decency, lol. If you for some reason still believe in your god du jour, this isn’t the game for you. You will almost defin...

The love really shows for what it wants to tell, and the humor is really good. The anthropomorphic world so far works. Update: after 0.5 hr playtime the game no longer fun due to the following issues: - no voice over - games half or third the price does have full voice over for point and click games - the text format is hard to read due the font used - the text does not move the to the next line after you click like in other games, but it moves without your input on its own accord and it rushes you which is the exact opposite of what you want with these type of games. This means that you will need to pay extra close attention to the text since there is no voice over and the font used is subpar. - you cannot look up a walkthrough or other things during playtime when you are in full screen mode, because the game would crash otherwise. - so you need to play it in windowed mode which lowers the pixels and you see even less of your environment, which furthers worsens the overall experience...

I probably overrate this game because I drink too much alcohol, am approaching middle age and love heavy metal just like the main character. It’s probably a 5/10 for all the normies out there with its slow walking speed and lack of voiced dialogue, but to me this was the 8/10 heavy metal adventure diamond in the rough. Full of heavy metal references, macabre humor, and cool animations, Rock ‘n’ Roll Will Never Die is the narrative metal game I’ve craved for all my life. I spent $1.49 on this and was floored by the amount of content. Most of the writing is bawdy and legitimately funny, although your mileage will vary. I cracked up at a lot of the alcoholism and closeted homosexuality jokes, but the second a priest is introduced I was rolling my eyes at the amount of molestation humor peppered throughout the next hour of play. If you find the Deponia games distasteful, this is that humor turned up to 11. Regardless, the solo developer understands how to make fun adventure ...

I'd never heard anything about this game before seeing an announcement on Adventure Gamers that the game was out. I must have missed it on October 2021 Steam Next Fest, and I don't think I've seen it featured in any of the Steam adventure game events or on any sites like Kotaku or Rock Paper Shotgun which run pieces on promising indie titles. And that's a shame, because Rock 'n' Roll Will Never Die! is really good. It's a decent length traditional adventure with inventory-based puzzles and NPC interactions and high-resolution (1920x1080) 2D graphics, which is very nice to see, as that kind of an adventure game has been a very rare beast for the last 3-4 years. There is no voice acting though. It's also an adventure game of the modern type, giving the player access only to a few locations and a few usable items at the same time and still making the puzzles entertaining. I would describe the puzzles as rather easy and reasonably silly. There are very neat chained multi-stage puzz...

Pros -Nice art style -Wacky Characters -Humorous story and dialog, plenty of puns. -Solid point and click puzzle design, interesting and engaging, just the right level of difficulty IMHO. -Good controls, entirely playable with the mouse. -Good value. Cons -Locked to 40 fps -No hot spot reveal tool as far as I'm aware -No auto-save -No voice acting Overall if you like point and click adventure games then its a no brainer.

a true to the roots point & click adventure game, which also is true to its rock'n roll roots (with an emphasis on 80's hard rock & heavy metal). it turned out to be great in every sense, the cartoonish graphics, the music tracks, the puzzles (just the right difficulty level), the game play (something like double left click to make teddy move faster would still be nice), the multitude of quirky characters, but i must especially point out to its humor. it was easily one of the funniest adventure games i have ever played, in the face of vast competition. it also is one of the very few adventure games which brought tears to my eyes (apesh*t's mother's speech..oh man..). it packs quite a punch in terms of game length btw, i must have spent at least 12 hours on this beauty.

Awesome game! Can't wait to play more of it, very relaxing and fun :) Puzzle difficulty level perfect for me, enough to make you think but not too frustrating

Pretty fun point and click adventure. The story flows quite nicely and puzzles are either logical or solutions are found by exploring the environment and/or talking. The game is also satisfyingly long for a point and click game and provides surprisingly many puzzles and scenes to play. There is a slight anticlimactic undertone with some of the transitions though and sometimes you feel like solving a chapter would provide some kind of extra reward (an animation or a joke? some positive outlook?) than just progressing to another day or a place in the game. The concept and humor probably work best if you like heavy rock and metal, because the game is filled with heavy rock/metal wordplay and puns. The graphics and characters are very well drawn, but the music is a letdown considering it's a game about heavy metal band. Still, it's a very impressive point and click considering it's a one man project! Recommend it!
