The game itself isn't bad for $3 as it doesn't control terribly and the RPG elements are well integrated. However, in the visual and audio departments the game is sorely lacking. Almost every menu in the game is just floating text, no background, with an X that frequently blends in to exit. Even the options screen on the main menu is a disaster to navigate. The menus aren’t the only thing that needs polish, as the audio is a total grab bag as well. I can overlook the text-to-speech voice acting as voice actors are expensive, but I’m 99% sure that the door opening sound effect is ripped straight from Half-Life. Also, the tutorial is not only forced, but it ruins any possible suspense in the game proper. If you make the player fight zombies in the tutorial, it’s stupid to pretend like it’s some reveal when zombies show up in the game proper five minutes later. I’m also pretty sure the use key (default E) is also bound to the reload key, which is downright silly as the R is on...
