That’s why Jack and Brenda hire you, the commander of a mercenary force, to put an end to Santino's insane plans.

You and your mercenaries have to reclaim the island sector by sector, turn by turn. Cultivate the Fallow Trees and process their juices, as they are the basis for your funding. Hire better mercenaries, train local militias and manage your equipment wisely. Get your troops out there and help the people of Metavira!

If someone would tell me 25 years ago when I was excited by Jagged Alliance 2 that in 2025 I will replay Jagged alliance 1 again I dont think I would believe it. Even less that it will be total blast.. It is true that Jagged alliance has excellent sequel (and 3 is not bad either after all..) but I was still amazed how well the original was really done, sure it is old, sure it has some technical flaws, sure it require read the manual (btw it is in game files, I can also highly suggested this official strategy guide https://www.moddb.com/downloads/ja1 but it stay excellent, all formulas works flawlessly, your team of mercenaries raise from greens to Rambo superiors.. atmosphere is super captivating and force you capture just 1 more sector and go sleep... Game keep you on toes with events that constantly threat your finance and operation and the fight stay challenging till very end - in opposite to trivial and disappointing ending of UFO/XCOM, Jagged alliance nailed it and at end are eli...
