Bugs drove me crazy. Last straw was door I needed to go through never opened.

One of the greatest JRPGS from the SNES era has been polished and released again. They simply polished it up a bit so it still has that sprite design charm. The fighting mechanics are a lot of fun as it’s not turn based, but more of an action real time fighting spin you didn’t see in a lot of the classic RPGs of its time. This was the developer Square Enix operating on all cylinders as the story is great, the gameplay is excellent, and the graphics are a nice throwback. This is one the quintessential JRPGs and some consider it amongst one of the best RPGs if not games made. A lot of fun to play through and experience again. I’m not sure how new gamers will enjoy it as it’s definitely a throwback and you don’t see games made like this anymore. I don’t know. I’d like to think it’s timeless. I think the gameplay is fun enough to hook new players. Definitely recommend if you haven’t tried it and have heard of it or for older gamers wanting to experience the game...

This game got trashed in reviews, but I think it's super. Top 3 highlights: - Combat feels much better to me than the original. The diagonals make everything feel much more consistent. - The remade graphics are pretty wonderful for 3d, and having the original 2d for a minimap was a great touch - The little conversations the party has at the inn are terrific. There are really a lot of these, and I found them all endearing. I finished the original a half-dozen times, and the remake fit the bill for me. I loved it.

its fun, now that its been a few years since the remake came out all bugs are fixed. you can enjoy an old school rpg adventure

a fan of the original and of this recreation. worst parts would still be weapon charging, group gathering for scenes/actions (such as full screen freeze while all of teams meets at one point to use the whip) and drop rates. 100% achievements is just a grind session that Square should be ashamed of, but aside from that, a good time. Why hasn't the game put in a proper map you can load on the overworld and a quick button to turn off/on the local map without having to go into options?

A great RPG, a bit repetitive though. But the 3D remake is beautifully done !
