You don't need much to make a good game. The mystery is good, the voice acting is great, the music fits just fine and the graphics just work (although i could have been optimised a little bit better.) A very atmospheric, melancholic and eerie story that has stayed with me since I finished it.

About This Game
Sagebrush is a short-form first-person narrative adventure about exploring the compound of an apocalyptic Millenialist cult in remote New Mexico years after they collectively took their lives in a mass suicide event.
In Sagebrush, you'll investigate the long-abandoned Black Sage Ranch, the former home of Perfect Heaven, an apocalyptic cult formed in the early 1990s under the guiding hand of the prophet Father James.
Inspired by Real-World Apocalyptic Cults
Based on extensive research into cult groups both famous and obscure, large and small, Sagebrush avoids simplistic motivations and easy answers. The members of the Flock are diverse and complex people with varied needs, hopes, and fears. An Immersive, Lo-Fi 3D World
Sagebrush features an evocative low-poly, low-resolution, less-is-more art style that combines retro aesthetics with modern technology, along with a fully-realized soundscape and an original ambient musical score that immerses you in the remote New Mexico desert.A Whole Compound to Explore
Black Sage Ranch is yours to wander, from the trailers that housed the cultists, to the halls where they gathered for food and prayer, to the old mines that stretch out below the compound, untouched for nearly a century.Uncover the Real Story
Find notes, recordings, and belongings that give insight into the people who lived at Black Sage Ranch. What did they believe? Why did they join? Were they happy? And why did they choose to end it all?Estimated Playtime: 60-120 minutes

There is nothing I could say to enhance someone's playthrough other than just to say that going in blind was the best decision I ever made. Seriously, if this looks interesting, I urge you to play it with no spoilers. It's a phenomenal experience that kept me hooked. Onto mild criticisms with the game (spoilers) (duh).
I wish I didn't know about the mass suicide, as it would have made the ending significantly more powerful and shocking, but ultimately a very minor complaint. I also wasn't huge on the graphical style; while I like old low-poly style graphics, sometimes I found myself getting lost, unable to tell what direction I was going due to just how limited the detail was. Also a very minor criticism however and not one that actively detracted from the experience.
All things considered, easy 9/10 game if I had to rate it. I will say that the tags may lead you to believe that it is something that it is not. This is not a psychological horror game, rather just a...
loved piecing the whole story together, very dark backstory it felt like im a part of it
The game is not overly hard and should only take about 1-2 hours to complete. There are some spots in the game that may be hard to figure out, but nothing is too complicated overall. During my playthrough, I did use something to scribble some codes too, but it’s nothing too much or overwhelming. As far as the environment and atmosphere go it does feel very uneasy at times. The doors will magically close behind you, which could startle you a few times until you get used to it. The scenery will go from sunset to a shadowy night. You’ll be given a flashlight during your playthrough and this will come in clutch in some areas of the game. There is only one ending to this game, which makes sense because it’s a narrative of events that have already happened. There is an achievement for completing this game in under 20 minutes; I’ll leave my walkthrough of getting that achievement in the comments. Overall, I would recommend this game if you’re in the mood for a dark narrative ...
im shocked this game doesnt have more recognition, being so deadass i had goosebumps all the way through as the idea of cults has always freaked me out and i feel like this game really captures what a cult really means. 10/10 fully reccomend, best ÂŁ5 ive spent
pretty neat
This was so good. The eerie atmosphere keeps you on edge and expecting something to be around every corner. It was really fun finding all the clues to piece the story together. It's a short game; took me around 2.5 hours to complete.
I know that this is a fictional story, but the events are at least based on things that really happened and are still happening. It's important, that this game exists.
