About This Game
Players in Wrench use a variety of tools to disassemble and repair an extremely detailed car assembly. There are three chassis currently offered in the game. A hatchback streetcar, and two licensed kit cars. Our philosophy behind Wrench is to allow players to fail, get lost, and do things incorrectly. We use limited 2d UI and prefer world interactions. There is no automated inventory system, players must keep track of all of their parts, and we provide organizational tools to help players manage their spaces. The garage space has customizable workbenches, flooring, and storage.
Wrench is a traditional desktop keyboard and mouse game with a VR mode for Oculus, Index, WMR, Vive, and Vive Cosmos (experimental).

As an automotive master technician in the real world you would think that I get enough of it at work and wouldn't want to play this but here I am. The absolute attention to detail in this game is amazing! I do appreciate all this game has to offer but it doesn't exactly offer exactly what I was looking for. Starting out the vehicle doesn't start and its my job to figure that out. Go over the basics and find some things and fix them, cranks but no start. My gauge still isn't getting power. I can't check if I am getting fuel or spark. At this point there is extra parts laying around so I just start replacing stuff since I can't properly diagnose. The screw driver doesn't turn on one screw for the fuel pump so its stuck there with no way to get it out. I pulled the valve cover off to check timing and it looked like it might be out so I tried to rotate the engine with a socket and it wont rotate because its trying to tighten the bolt. I got kind of frustrated with it and gave up. That and...
Very good game. Right now I'm studying automotive repair and feel like this games certainly helping me grasp the basics of certain repairs.
Drinking and Gambling update when?
lost my damn 10mm
Amazing sim, way better than the playway mechacnic sim games. Time just flies as you get lost in the simpliest jobs yet they still feel immersive and real. As a person who has had experience with cars in real life. it's pretty realistic in terms of car structure, tool usage and part design. incredible game
Just like real life, no idea what I'm doing
Need to fix / test your game before releasing it to the stable branch. dumpster disappears after a while. sometimes the parts disappear after uninstalling. and most of the time you cant reinstall parts after removal. The guide that tells you what buttons to use depending what you are doing does not help either. I do not recommend this version of the game at this time. I will stick to the legacy version for now.
A Mechanic's Dream or a Casual Player's Nightmare?
First off, this game is exclusively for professional mechanics or very advanced car enthusiasts. If you're not already familiar with real-world engine components, wiring diagrams, and torque specs, you'll feel completely lost. The level of detail is impressive, with accurate representations of parts like pistons, transmissions, and electrical systems, but it assumes a baseline knowledge that casual gamers simply don't have. It's not just about following instructions; it's about understanding how cars actually work, which can be rewarding for experts but alienating for everyone else. One of the biggest issues I encountered is the cable harness system which is mega buggy. Wiring up the electrical components feels like a chore due to glitches where wires clip through parts.Even more problematic is the complete lack of proper diagnostics for problems. When a car won't start, how are you supposed to know...
You start in a garage which is overloaded with garbage, which you have to get rid off. But there is a container outside where you can throw stuff into and it will stay with you until you're done, right? No, it disappears mid-cleaning and you're left with a little less garbage filled garage. I'd recommend CMS 2021, maybe not as realistic but much easier to get into.
